Protect your WordPress Installation

with the AntiSpam protection from BitDefender

BitDefender for Wordpress is one of our newest solutions to fight spam... on blogs.

You probably already know that 9 out of 10 email messages are spam, but did you know that almost 8 out of 10 blog comments are spam? At this very moment, there is no spam free communication platform, and every day we see how spammers and malware writers expand their territories and conquer new communication environments.

How to spot spam messages? You probably already received plenty of spam comments that are using characters you don't actually know or in a language that you can't really recognize. That's spam! Did you get any comments that are actually just saying that your blog is awesome; that the author found some nice tips there and you should continue posting; or did you get any comments that contain some pretty good jokes? We know this looks very good among your comments, but you should always check the URLs in these comments, since there is a high chance that they are spam comments.

You don't want spam comments on your blog. First of all, they are annoying. Second, your users are either going to see that your blog is spammed or even worst, they are going to get tricked. It might be a very good idea to scan your comments for spam.

Why WordPress?

Actually Wordpress is just the first platform that we developed a plugin for, but our plan is to share this technology with any other blogger out there that wants to use our API for comment scanning. Wordpress was just the first, but we plan to expand. Also, if any developers out there want to chime in, the API documentation will be available soon.
